"If it's not complicated, you're not doing it right," Marty says boldly. "And yeah, I know I'm saying this as somebody who's AU means he never lived through the movie, but I've seen all of canon me's adventures. I think I'm on the right track here."

"The new series seems to be making a habit of putting old fans into the role," Doc chuckles. "Well, I suppose you can be assured that someone who's loved the show for a while will give the best performance they're capable of. And yes, that's probably a reasonable fear, given how popular the show is."
