Happy Halloween! (^o^)

Halloween! It is here. It is awesome. And awesome holidays deserve some truly awesome parties! As per usual, the Inkwell is all decked out and ready to go – black and orange streamers, paper bats hanging from the ceiling, fake blood on the window, and a jack-o-lantern sitting by the front door outside – one that is carved with a pie shape and what looks like a razor on it. There is a reason for this – this year’s theme for most of the residents is Sweeney Todd. You can thank Lucy for the idea – she herself is dressed up as Mrs. Lovett. Simon has taken on the role of Beadle Bamford, putting on his best shifty-eyed look. DG-Victor has of course become Sweeney himself, with Alice serving as his long-lost Lucy. (Yes, there was an element of amusement about Alice dressing herself up as a Lucy.) Doc is serving as the evil Judge Turpin, and Marty as lesser antagonist Adolfo Pirelli (the “piss and ink” guy). Dee is crossdressing as the unfortunate Toby, and Steve & Gary are dressed up in their puppy forms as pies with arms and legs sticking out of them (and having probably way too much fun as such).

There are two hold-outs on the theme – the two Victors who main haunt these days is tumblr. Butterfly Boy has run with the mun’s old idea for an Avengers AU based on her primary two crossover universes and is dressed up as a steampunk Iron Man. And Forgotten Vows has taken to heart a crossover idea Vic’s friend Reenie had over there and dressed up as Nathan Wallace, aka the Repo Man, from Repo!: The Genetic Opera. There’s been a few nervous looks their way as nobody can tell if the weaponry they’re carrying is real or not. (Not that they would ever turn such on their friends, but – accidents happen.)

At any rate, there’s plenty of good food, good tunes, and good fun to be had, so go ahead and drop by! Happy Halloween!

The Secundusians are the first to drop by, and it's immediately apparent they've followed Butterfly Boy's theme -- SecDoc is the Hulk, SecMarty Captain America, and SecAlice Black Widow. "Hi everyone!" SecMarty greets the crowd, waving his shield.

"Hello!" Doc says, waving to his alternate and his friends as Butterfly Boy goes in for a hug. "Good to see you -- and great costumes!" He frowns slightly. "Though, given the nature of the Avengers AU Vic came up with, shouldn't you be Pepper Potts, Alice?"

"Perhaps, but I really wanted to be Black Widow," SecAlice says, smoothing out the black suit a little. "It's an Avengers AU after all, and she's the main female member. . ."

"You look wonderful -- and completely ready to kick some ass," Butterfly Boy assures her, kissing her cheek. "I think I've convinced Delusional Beauty to dress up as her Grasshopper Tea self on tumblr. We'll see."

SecAlice laughs. "Sounds fun!"

"Your mun has actually DONE something for Secundus's Halloween over there this year, hasn't she?" SecDoc asks, sounding a bit concerned. "I know she missed last year thanks to the storm. . ."

"She has! She wrote it up last night and put it in the queue for today," Butterfly Boy beams. "The parade and everything is all set!"

"Yeah, I wasn't going to miss another year -- I was embarrassed enough about skipping last year, even with no internet for most of the day," Vic reveals, coming in with the muses. She's dressed up as a Bioshock Little Sister, while the muses seem to have decided to dress up as the things that have inspired them -- OckDoc, for example, is in a Spider-Man 2 Doctor Octopus costume.

"She did a lot of preplanning yesterday," TeenDoc, as Gil Wulfenbach, confirms. "Queued up posts for both of our tumblr denizens, and made sure this party would be ready to go posthaste."

"Yes -- although my 'celebration' is rather low-key on tumblr," Forgotten Vows says. "Mainly based around having treats and an apple bob for anyone who wants them. If they can get past my crazy dragon constantly diving into the water," he adds, glancing at Moonlight sitting on his shoulder. Moonlight does a little "I'm totally innocent" preening."

"Well, that's what Victorian parties were like -- a bit more sedate and with lots of apples," Vic says with a giggle. "At least I'm not making you play the crazy game with the apples and the burning candles on the wheel, right?"

"Oh goodness no," Forgotten says with a wince. Noticing a few confused looks, he adds, "There's apparently this mad variation on apple bobbing that involves sticking candles and apples on alternating spokes of a wheel, hanging it from the ceiling, lighting the candles, then setting the whole business spinning before attempting to take a bite out of one of the apples."

Marty raises an eyebrow. "Oooookay. . .sounds like a good way to get your nose burnt off to me, but whatever. . ."

"It wasn't all insane," Butterfly Boy says. "We have lots of different treats. Weren't you trying lambswool, Forgotten?"

[forgotten_vows]

"Yes!" Forgotten points proudly to a set of glasses on the bar. "Cider, baked apples, cream, sugar, ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. I think it's quite good."

"We'll have to give it a try!" Clockwork says, before laughing. "Though I feel a bit bad about you having to cook."

[forgotten_vows]

Forgotten blinks. "Why? I've been practicing on tumblr for ages. I like learning."

"No problem with that -- it's just that it's your anniversary of arrival here!" Lucy tells him. "Butterfly Boy's too, actually. You both got introed at Halloween parties!"

"Really?" Forgotten says, looking at his alternate.

Butterfly Boy nods. "I did -- and nearly got my head taken off because of a proton beam," he adds, frowning at his mun. "Did you really have to tell me to come in the back at the same time you let loose Slimer?"

"I seriously did not intend for those two events to happen concurrently!" Vic says, holding up her hands. "I didn't want my newest muse to die before I got a chance to do anything with him." She smiles a little. "But yeah -- I do have a habit of introducing new Victors around Halloween, don't I? . . .No, one isn't going to pop up this time," she adds as everyone starts looking around.

Forgotten Vows shakes his head a little. "You and your plans. . .does my introduction really count, though? It was before I even had a journal! It's not even part of my RP listing."

"It's close enough -- the only reason you didn't have a journal was because I was on the verge of leaving LiveJournal," Vic explains. "Once I moved to Dreamwidth, you were good to go. And thanks -- I really should stick that in the 'nebulous' category I made just for that purpose, shouldn't I?"

"You probably should, yes," Forgotten says, before smiling. "I'd like my first trip here to be immortalized. I -- thank you all for taking me in like this. It's been so nice to have a real home away from home."

"You were always welcome, I assure you," DG-Victor tells him, patting the shoulder Moonlight isn't currently occupying. "If you're one of Vic's muses, you're family. We've always got room for someone else."

"Exactly," Butterfly Boy agrees, slinging an arm around his alternate. "I told you they'd like you."

[forgotten_vows]

Forgotten Vows smiles back at him, feeling quite content. "Yeah. Thanks."

AL and the guys walk in, wondering exactly if there will ever be a party they're not late to (probably the Doctors' anniversary but they're hosting that so that doesn't count). AL has borrowed the alter ego's pirate costume. As for the guys...eh, use your imagination. /lazy...and at work

"Happy Halloween!" AL chirps cheerfully.
